dear Spring, i Love you.

Have you guys been LOVING it?!  All that snow this Winter has made such lush and floral trees this Spring.  They are absolutely gorgeous!  And the rain.......such vibrant hues & intoxicating smells.  I just adore taking walks in this lovely season, sprinkles or sunshine.  Get out and enjoy it before it gets too hot! xoxo.

spring cleaning

Yesterday we started a major cleaning project in our house.  Our goal is to have a reasonably clean slate of a house to come back to after we go to Colorado.  This gives us about a month and a half.  We have too much stuff.  Way too much stuff.  The ultimate goal is to get rid of as much crap as possible and only be left with quality items that we actually use and enjoy in our home.  This won't be easy.  Room by room we will be working hard every day.  Hopefully by the end of summer, or in the fall we will actually be able to move on to renovations that we so desperately need.  It will feel so good to finally feel like I can call my house a home.  When we get done we'll have a nice dinner party or something lovely like that.  Wish me luck!!

goodbye winter.

  Crazy how the first day of spring was filled with big fat fluffy snowflakes huh?  Snow & ice & bitter cold have been replaced with daffodils & rain & green green grass.  I usually love winter, but have been longing for spring since mid February when our heat went out.  I had figured that we were so close to spring that we would be fine to just wait it out for a while.  Space heaters, socks, and sweatshirts can only get you by so long.  Needless to say that I am thrilled that comfier times are in order.  I can't wait to get the yard in order so we can go shopping for garden supplies!  The strawberries we planted last summer have sprouted bright new vines, and fresh new chives have sprouted too!!  I just love seeing everything spring to life again!  What is springing up in your yard?
