cookies!

mmmmmmm.....cookies.  I found these adorable cookies on the Glamour Damaged blog, and boy do they look yummy!  I could really go for those sugar cookies right about now.  The bee ones are just plain cute, but I'm sure the black frosting is ick.  I love the wax paper wings!  I can't wait to bake cookies again.  The timing isn't quite right though, with me trying to lose weight and all.  Not to mention the broken oven.  If I had a money tree in my backyard, I'd be quick to purchase one of these swell pink stoves from Bars & Booths.  How dreamy would it be to have all pink appliances in your kitchen?!  I'd be in heaven!!!

ps3 cookies

Sorry I haven't posted anything lately.  I've been lazy, uncreative, and busy.  This is old news, but most of you don't know about it yet.  For my boyfriends birthday I made him playstation3 cookies!  He loved them.  How cute are they??  I was pretty proud of myself.  They tasted horrible because of the black frosting, so don't ask for the recipe.

go bananas!

I've been wanting to make a "healthy" cookie for a while now. So I did a little research on sugar and fat substitutions, and thought about which extra healthy add-ins would work well together. Then I typed in some key ingredients into Google image search (the best way to filter recipes because you can judge them based on looks) and found this recipe for Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies. It sounded fabulous so I altered it with my own spin, and they are absolutely amazing! The only problem is, they aren't cookies. Nope. They're muffin tops. But they're still amazing. And Healthy.

Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies Muffin Tops
2 1/4 C flour
1/2 C oats
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 Tbsp wheat germ
1/2 C applesauce
3/4 C brown sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 eggs
3 mashed ripe bananas
2 C semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 C walnuts

*preheat oven to 350

Mix applesauce and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer. Add in eggs one at a time. Add in mashed banana. In seperate bowl mix dry ingredients. Add dry mixture to wet mixture in small doses. I know the batter looks runny, but it will be fine. Mix in your chocolate chips and walnuts. Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray. This step is very important, as they will stick to the pan. :) Drop your muffin tops onto cookie sheet spacing evenly. You don't have to worry about them expanding...they won't. That being said, if you slop them onto the pan they will look sloppy. Bake for 7 minutes. They will look like cookies, but taste like muffiny goodness. I can't tell you how many this recipe yeilds, as we already ate too many to count. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did!

it's bananas. b-a-n-a-n-a-s.

let's play house

Tomorrow I'm bound and determined to find Daisy's lost camera. My first stop on a long list of cleaning/organizing duties-under Daisy's bed. It's my only hope at maintaining a decent blog. What kind of blogger would I be without pictures?! A pretty dull one.

I'm excited for this weekend because I get 3 days of pure domestic bliss. I'm gonna try not to get on the computer until chores have been done, and boy do we have plenty! I've been reading the FlyLady book for cleaning inspiration. So, inspired, I will tackle our bedrooms, the kitchen table, the living room, and laundry. I don't believe in God, but pray for me. Jesus, lord have mercy. It's not the cleaning part I despise actually, it's the clutter. The never ending piles of papers and laundry and toys. sigh.

I'll be doing a lot of cooking this weekend too. Over the next 3 days we'll be eating New England clam chowder, homemade bread cones filled with chicken salad with a side of cucumbers and balsamic vinegrette, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and tacos. yum.

Hopefully all the cooking & cleaning will lead to snuggles & family movie time!
