let's play house

Tomorrow I'm bound and determined to find Daisy's lost camera. My first stop on a long list of cleaning/organizing duties-under Daisy's bed. It's my only hope at maintaining a decent blog. What kind of blogger would I be without pictures?! A pretty dull one.

I'm excited for this weekend because I get 3 days of pure domestic bliss. I'm gonna try not to get on the computer until chores have been done, and boy do we have plenty! I've been reading the FlyLady book for cleaning inspiration. So, inspired, I will tackle our bedrooms, the kitchen table, the living room, and laundry. I don't believe in God, but pray for me. Jesus, lord have mercy. It's not the cleaning part I despise actually, it's the clutter. The never ending piles of papers and laundry and toys. sigh.

I'll be doing a lot of cooking this weekend too. Over the next 3 days we'll be eating New England clam chowder, homemade bread cones filled with chicken salad with a side of cucumbers and balsamic vinegrette, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and tacos. yum.

Hopefully all the cooking & cleaning will lead to snuggles & family movie time!

be mine

I'm in love. If anthropologie had these beauties in my size I would snap them up in a heartbeat! Nevermind the electric bill, we have blankets. tee hee. If I had these shoes I would think of excuses to go out all the time. These are the kind of shoes you would wear until your feet start to bleed because they are just so dang cute! I'm inspired to look harder for clothes I truly love when I look at these. I feel like clothes can be so ho hum sometimes, but I suppose you can find a diamond in the rough if you look hard enough. Oh wouldn't you just die if your sugarpie gave these to you for Valentines Day?!

getting by

I'm really excited about this new blog. The only problem is that I don't have a decent camera right now. My nearly 5 year old digital camera was holding on by a thread, and while acting up one day I smashed it. It's dead. Luckily, Daisy got a cute little digital camera for Christmas that was tiding me over......until she lost it. Eventually it'll turn up. Until then, I'll be picking through the photos I have already stored in my computer. Getting my hands on a sharp digital SLR would be a dream, but until $500 blossoms from my money tree, I'll have to make due with what I got. Today was a little painful to drag myself through. Just a little bit. We spent most of the night before (until 11:30) helping Lilly with her multiplication and division homework. That was fun. I patiently spent two hours explaining how to get the answers to the higher multiplication problems that she hasn't bothered to memorize yet. While getting eyes rolled at me twice, I was trying to decide if she was acting like a teenager or a toddler. Both. At the same time. So this morning my eyelids didn't want to stay open. And I had a headache for a good portion of the day. That's ok though, because we got through Lilly's homework without giving her any answers, and since I tend to turn to food to comfort I made some of my great grandma Millie's apple dumplings. They're hot and bubbly and smell amazing right now cooling on the stove. Mmmm...I can't wait to dig in!

what's for lunch?

While browsing blogland this morning, i found some handy tools for feeding little ones. I saw this really cool lunch box that reminds me of a binto box. It has a bunch of little compartments, but it's all one unit. Plus it comes with a drink bottle, it's dishwasher safe, and comes with a ton of stickers for personalization! At $30 it's a bit pricey, but in terms of a convenient way to pack a healthy and fun lunch, I believe it will be well worth it. I also saw these cute little nutrition and fitness trackers too. Now if we could only find such fun, healthy, and convenient dinner options!

rub a dub dub...

...two faces in the tub? :) We've had a long lazy weekend, and now it's time to peel ourselves off of the couch and actually get something done. I found some great tips on TipNut about combining housework and working out, which i'm really excited about. The "honeypie" playlist that my boyfriend made me on my ipod should help speed things along as well. As a reward for tidying up, we'll head off to the library this evening! It's really cute to see what the girls pick out. I'm gonna check out some books about blogging, cleaning, cooking, and organizing. I know, exciting huh?

dreaming

My dreams include 8 hours of sleep every night in 2010. A girl can dream right?
